Three generations of experience at the service of SelYA
My name is Simone Maldotti, and I am the third generation of my family to work in the fisheries sector. My family's history in the sector began in 1957 with my grandmother, Carina Caucchioli, and continued in 1972 with my parents. Since 1991, my own professional career has brought together production, aquaculture and trade. I have worked with fish farmers, fishermen, distributors and professionals in Italy and across Europe, building knowledge and relationships throughout the supply chain over time. Daily hands-on work with the product and dialogue with people in the sector are the wealth of experience I bring to SelYA.
I believe this knowledge can be useful to people choosing fish. Buyers should be able to better understand what they purchase. Those who work with expertise should be able to have the value of their efforts recognized.
With Italia Foodtech and the development team, we are turning this idea into an accessible tool. Product expertise meets artificial intelligence, with the aim of offering clear, impartial support for making choices.
We want to continue developing SelYA through new collaborations. We are open to working with professionals, universities, research centers, public bodies and international organizations from anywhere in the world. Anyone wishing to contribute can contact me to offer expertise, content or proposals for experimental projects. Dialogue helps put the tool to the test, improve the information and develop increasingly useful answers.
The knowledge built over the years is the value we make available to everyone, and it continues to grow through everyone's collaboration. That is SelYA.
